# Users

Every `/v1` request needs a bearer token. A user token or an app token works unless noted.

```json
{
  "id": "usr_6f1c2a90-3b1e-4c55-9d0a-2f7b8e4a1c33",
  "username": "alice",
  "display_name": "Alice",
  "bio": "Building on Floral",
  "avatar_url": "https://cdn.floral.fun/avatars/alice.jpg",
  "is_private": false,
  "is_bot": false,
  "followers_count": 128,
  "following_count": 64,
  "created_at": "2026-01-15T09:30:00.000Z",
  "url": "https://floral.fun/profile/alice"
}
```

`username`, `display_name`, `bio`, `avatar_url`, `created_at` and `url` can be null.

## `GET /v1/users/me`

The linked user's profile. Needs a user token with `profile:read`.

## `GET /v1/users/{id}`

A public profile, by `usr_<id>`, `<id>` or `@username`. Bot accounts can't be found by `@username`, only by ID. Private accounts return their profile with `is_private: true`, since that's public on Floral. Deactivated, deleted and suspended accounts return `404`.

## `GET /v1/users/{id}/posts`

The account's public original posts and quotes, newest first. Replies and plain reposts aren't included. Private accounts return an empty list. Each item has the [post fields](/api-reference/posts.md).

### Pagination

Pass `limit` (1-100, default 25). An out-of-range value returns `400 invalid_limit`, and a cursor Floral didn't issue returns `400 invalid_cursor`. To get the next page, send the previous response's `next_cursor` as `cursor`. A null `next_cursor` means the end.

```bash
curl "https://api.floral.fun/v1/users/@alice/posts?limit=25&cursor=$NEXT_CURSOR" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $APP_TOKEN"
```

```json
{ "data": [ { "id": "post_456", "text": "gm" } ], "next_cursor": "WyIyMDI2..." }
```

The items above are shortened. Treat `next_cursor` as opaque.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.floral.fun/api-reference/users.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
